Flipkart's SDE interview reports span campus hiring and experienced backend roles. The questions below come from individual accounts, including a 2024 SDE-3 candidate who described both algorithm rounds and machine coding. They should not be read as one fixed loop.
Experienced backend: SDE-3
In one report, the first DSA round asked for a map that inserts string keys and returns the sum of values whose keys share a requested prefix (source). The candidate used a trie. A second prompt placed balls in baskets and asked to maximize the minimum magnetic force between any two balls (source). The candidate approached it with binary search. Both were asked in the Flipkart SDE-3 backend interview report (2024).
The next round was a food-ordering machine-coding exercise (source). Restaurants had menus and limited processing capacity; customers could order multiple items, and restaurants were selected by the lowest item price. The requirements included menu changes, split fulfillment across restaurants, order tracking, and restoring capacity after fulfillment. The source report includes more test cases and constraints, so use it as the full specification: same SDE-3 report (2024).
Another SDE-3 machine-coding post describes a peer-to-peer delivery platform (source). It required customer and driver onboarding, order cancellation rules, automatic driver assignment, status tracking, and concurrency handling. The exact prompt is in the Flipkart machine-coding report (2024). Treat this as a reported exercise, not an official assignment template.
How to prepare for the Flipkart SDE interviews in these reports
The DSA questions reward stating the data structure and its invariant: the prefix sum belongs naturally beside a trie node, while the magnetic-force objective can be tested for a candidate distance. In machine coding, the harder part is often the state transitions: restaurant capacity, driver availability, cancellation, and concurrent requests. Write those rules before choosing classes.

Additional Flipkart SDE-2 reports
The LeetCode collection adds separate SDE-2 accounts to the SDE-3 reports above. The report descriptions do not establish one shared round sequence.
SDE-2 coding and machine-coding report
One candidate named these tasks:
- Find the median from a data stream. (LeetCode Flipkart SDE-2 report, problem reference)
- Find the earliest time when everyone becomes friends. (same report, problem reference)
- Design a gym-management system. (same report, linked machine-coding prompt)
A separate SDE-2 report describes one medium dynamic-programming question and one medium-hard graph question, but its notes do not identify the problem statements. (LeetCode Flipkart SDE-2 report)
SDE-2 offline drive
A January 2026 candidate described API design as a round, with attention to request and response contracts. The same account mentions behavioral questions about ownership, conflict resolution, and handling ambiguity, but does not give their exact wording. (LeetCode Flipkart SDE-2 report)
Frequently asked questions
What did the Flipkart SDE-3 machine-coding round involve?
One 2024 report describes a food-ordering system with restaurant menus and capacity, customer orders, lowest-price restaurant selection, split fulfillment, order tracking, and restored capacity. The candidate report contains the fuller requirements.
